Trainers are eligible to earn a daily bonus for capturing Pokémon or visiting PokéStops every day. A larger bonus will be awarded if done consecutively for seven days in a row.[1]

With the release of this game feature, Daily Bonus Celebration event happened.

Tracking of daily bonus streaks was initially possible only by seeing the current daily bonus after obtaining one for performing the respective action. Since April 2020, with introduction of Today View page, players can track their streaks from there.

First Catch of the Day[]

Criteria Rewards
Day 1 to 6 1,500 XP
7 days straight 6,000 XP
A "day" starts at midnight local time. (i.e. If one catches a Pokémon at any time on Tuesday local time, they will be eligible for the next daily bonus on Wednesday at 12:00 a.m. local time.)

First PokéStop of the Day[]

Criteria Rewards
Day 1 to 6 500 XP
A number of additional items.
7 days straight 2,500 XP
A greater number of additional items, including at least one guaranteed Johto Evolution Item.
A "day" starts at midnight local time. (i.e. If one spins a PokeStop at any time on Tuesday local time, they will be eligible for the next daily bonus on Wednesday at 12:00 a.m. local time.)

  • Initially, Trainer only received extra 500 XP and 600 Stardust of the First Catch of the Day (2000 XP and 3000 Stardust on the seventh day). It is tripled since the COVID-19 pandemic[2] and was announced to be permanent on September 29th, 2020.[3]
